Schroeder has seen the impact of the foster care system first hand and understands the challenges faced by families and children within the system. She believes there are solutions to these challenges, specifically solutions that have been built and supported in the local community.

Mental health services in central Texas are struggling, and it's causing a struggle for those who need the services. Rena is dedicated to reviewing and changing the system to benefit the people of Texas.
Veterans
Our military veterans deserve services and support for their unique needs. Schroeder is committed to maintaining funding for veterans services and wants to provide a platform for their voices and stories.
Homelessness
All of these issues contribute to the landscape of homelessness throughout Texas. Schroeder is committed to listening and supporting the tangible changes for Texans in crisis, for the wellbeing of everyone.

Reallocation & Reform
With a commitment to minimal government intervention and high integrity, Schroeder offers a conservative approach to the issue of deficits: review and reallocate to solutions that are working.
Public Strategy Through Listening
It’s difficult, if not impossible, for those in elected office to understand the best solution to social issues on the ground. As a nonprofit leader, Rena has seen this first hand and aims to give other local leaders a voice in the state senate. The legislative priorities should be a reflection of the needs of those served.
